Why? Because I have no shame.
Looking forward to a better camera to use for all my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Now I need to find a place to hookup a wireless charging pad in my car.

I’m honestly really surprised Apple adopted an existing standard for wireless charging instead of some new proprietary crap.

Me too, and I’m really happy they did. Will make it much, much easier to incorporate it into my routines.

I just ordered a regular 8 for my wife. Surprisingly the carrier-locked versions were still available for 9/22 delivery. I got it unlocked, though, because I’m not about to pay VZW another $30 “upgrade fee” when I can just swap a sim. That means 9/29-10/6. Oh well, better than waking up at 2 AM. I admire your commitment.

don’t those cost like a a billion dollars now?

My dad ordered an 8 for my mom.
The upgrade fee irritated me. I didn’t really want to plop down $800 all at once, so I went with the installment plan from Apple. I don’t understand the upgrade fee at. all. I have a phone now that I own, I’m buying a phone from the manufacturer. Same plan, same number, same sim...phantom $30 charge. Oh well.

Doesn’t everything?
The 8+ is $800. I don’t really get the panic around the cost specific to Apple: a Samsung Galaxy S8 is $700 right now, and a Note 8 is $930. It’s not like the iPhone options cost orders of magnitude more than the leading Samsung products.

I love the camera on my 7+ but I hate the size. It takes amazing photos, but trying to find a pocket for it to fit in, then not being able to reach 75% of the screen, ugh. I’ll get an iPhone Xs in a couple years, I just can’t afford to replace them every year.

yeah... we had to replace my wife’s and got a galaxy 7 and even that was $600 even though the 8's were coming out.... I’m kinda hoping the major manufacturers start coming out with a solid middle grade option - not junk but not $1000. I don’t need the super nice screen or a top end processor but still want a decent phone...

I have a 6+ at the moment, I love the size. The only issue I have is it falling out of my pocket when I sit in my car. If I can come up with a convenient wireless charging solution in the car I’ll get in the habit of taking it out of my pocket.
I feel ya on the every year thing. I’ve had my 6+ for 3 years now

Yeah, the 3 year upgrade cycle is the way to go.

I love my big phone, browsing the web and watching videos is just so much better on a larger screen
